We will keep you updated about the happenings at Reaching Hands Ranch on this page. Updates will be made as time permits, so be sure to check back often!

Prince (pictured above), Starlight (directly below) and Noel (below Starlight) came to RHR the week before Christmas from WY Livestock Enforcement. Their winter hair hides the truly sad shape they are in. Now after 20+ days, they are worked up to an almost normal diet, have been wormed/vaccinated and are beginning to show some great improvements.

Daisy came to RHR in November from Wyoming Livestock Enforcement in pitiful condition as shown on the picture to the left. Two short months later...see the picture to the right!

What a SCARY halloween at RHR this year! A few of the horses dressed up for apple and carrot treats!

"Chance" was abandoned. He had been roaming around a rural subdivision for a couple of weeks, when the Wyoming Livestock board was contacted. He is young and very kind... and seems very happy to have a place to call home!

Jessica Forliano, John and Josh Lyons certified trainer, recently put on a horsemanship clinic with proceeds benefiting RHR. It was a great success with 7 participants. Jessica is a wonderful trainer and clinician - we were so fortunate to be able to learn from her while supporting the ranch at the same time. Thank you Jessica!

We love a happy ending... this is one such story. Becca adopted Sir Lancelot (aka Blackie) last year. He had some issues, but would you look at them now! Thank you Becca!

What a group! Here we have the 2009 Reaching Hands Ranch/Rocky Mountain Rustlers 4-H participants. From the left are "Roger" with Haley, "Dust Pan" with Naomi, "Hudson" with Sara, "Jacko" with MiKayla and "Barney" with Emmett. They all worked so very hard and did a wonderful job at the County Fair as a team.

Hope and Jenny at the Horse Fair. Hope was a little trooper and did a wonderful job with all of the excitement surrounding her that day. Napoleon made an appearance as well, but stayed back at the RHR table to sign autographs while we conducted the demonstration.

Dust Pan and Tracie at the Horse Fair in Cody. Dusty was demonstrating how well he has us trained during the demonstration:)

We were able to participate in an official "Pony Express" relay to celebrate the Powell Centennial on Memorial Day through the 4-H club. What a blast!

Powell Centennial Parade taking place after the Pony Express on Memorial Day.

"Ivy" meets Ken McNabb at the 4-H clinic! She made tremendous progress and we are so proud of her. Learning to trust us has not come easy for her and we needed this boost to move forward. She is so much happier now and is improving every day.

Well...Rain is no longer the newest addition to the Bauer family! The boys were already having disagreements about Rain and they each needed a horse of their own. Milkshake is a great pony available through our partner adoption program - now a part of the Bauer family as well.

Rain was adopted into a new home with two little boys of her own. Of course her favorite Ranch Hand went along to approve the new home and say her good byes. Rain will be missed, but her new home is very suitable to her and she will be very happy.

Another successful Partner Adoption! Dan is pictured with "Belle" a lovely Pryor Mustang cross mare he adopted early in March.

We just received some disheartening news regarding our Leo. He will be needing one more surgery to correct one of his back legs where the ligament has healed back together, keeping him stifled on that side. Months ago, he went through surgery on both hind legs to correct his stifle situation. We began his schedule of physical therapy which mainly consisted of ponying him at a long trot for 30 minutes per day. He became graveled in one hoof after 2 weeks and we had no choice but to discontinue until that condition healed. It was apparently just long enough for the ligament to heal back together. We hope to get this procedure done as weather permits this spring and be ready to go with aggressive PT to get him fully recovered.

Cupid made an appearance for Valentines Day at RHR
